Premenopause Symptoms

Premenopause can occur as early as eight years prior to menopause.  If not mentally prepared, the individual premenopause symptoms sufferer can be left with feelings of confusion and despair.

For decades it has been recognized that women from many European countries, also including the U.S. and Australia, have a far greater incident of premenopause, perimenopause, early menopause and menopause symptoms than do their counterparts in Eastern countries, especially Japan and China.

The symptoms associated with premenopause are identical to those symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause.  These include (but are not limited to), vaginal dryness, hot flashes, night sweats, fatigue, incontinence, memory loss, hair loss, unwanted hair growth, lack of sexual drive, vaginal wall thinning, etc.

Unfortunately, pharmaceutical drug companies do not invest in natural occurring or herbal premenopausal cures.  Supplements derived from natural sources cannot be patented and so, most of these curatives are never funded for testing, even though some of these are widely known and have been used for centuries.  100% of the medically approved premenopause symptoms treatment meds are only available via prescription and were originally concocted in laboratories.  Over the years, billions have been spent to bring these products to market.

Unfortunately, the majority of these  products, including HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and bioidenticals have been found to be  fraught with problems leading to a greater incidence and risk of developing heart disease and various types of cancer, even if used over an abbreviated time period.

Even though they are given a choice in what medications to take to relive premenopausal symptoms, most women feel forced to take the prescribed medications recommended by the medical community and due to the fact that only prescription drugs are supported by medical insurance. Prescription drug companies and medical practitioners are linked-at-the-hip in this effort, leaving the consumer the feeling that they have little choice in the matter and that the thought of a woman managing her own health care, is nothing short of lunacy.

Even though there is little clinical evidence or in vivo trials to boost the belief and confidence in all-natural or herbal premenopause supplements, a few of these have been tested and research has concluded that they are generally safe and effective.  At best, HRT only ever produced a 70% reduction of premenopause symptoms.  By contrast, some of the all-natural supplements (derived from flaxseed, soy, etc.) have been found to reduce symptoms by as much as 50% to 60% and in some cases, found to be as effective as HRT in relieving symptoms congruent with premenopause.

In the past decade the Mayo Clinic , the nation’s largest and best funded independent (not for profit) medical and research facility, has conducted numerous in vitro and in vivo studies on all natural premenopause symptom management supplementation.

Among the most promising, flaxseed was found to benefit premenopausal and menopausal women.  Follow up test suggest that the active components of flaxseed “can be as effective as HRT in relieving common premenopause and menopause symptoms.”  These supplements have been found to be safe and effective, even over prolonged use.
