Menopause Remedy

There is no remedy for menopause as menopause is a single day event for which there is no cure.  Menopause is a naturally occurring phenomena which all women must eventually face.  In Western countries women on average reach menopause at about age 51.  Menopause can be calculated following a twelve month uninterrupted time span without menaces and signifies the time (after which) a woman will be unable to bear children.

Over the years, quite a number of curatives, treatments and remedies have been advanced for menopause symptoms, all with varying degrees of safety, effectiveness and efficacy.

For the past half century, HRT (hormone replacement therapy) has been the most noteworthy of all menopause treatment plans, in spite of dire safety warnings associated with HRT in the past twenty years.

Twenty years ago, the most comprehensive drug tests ever conducted were begun on hundreds of thousands of women of menopausal and perimenopausal age. The clinical trials, scheduled to run five years, were stopped in just three years when it was concluded that HRT was causing a marked increase in heart disease and cancer in its test subjects.

While the medical community still advocates HRT, though for a shorter time period, other treatments like “bioidenticals” are more frequently proposed as a treatment for menopause type symptoms.

Though no thorough clinical trials have ever been conducted to test the safety of bioidenticals, the medical community has embraced bioidenticals in much the same way that they that they supported HRT prior to the clinical trials twenty years ago.

While the specter of unacceptable risk still haunts HRT, bioidenticals and other treatment plans of their ilk, independent (not for profit) research facilities like the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota are not afraid to cross swords with the mainstream medical community and have begun to independently test all-natural plant based menopause symptom remedies, when funds exist.

In a 2007 clinical study conducted (in part) by Sandhya Pruthi, M.D. at the Mayo Clinic, concluded that the phytoestrogens contained in the outer hull portion of flaxseed were instrumental in ameliorating common menopause symptoms, including hot flashes and night sweats.

On this topic, additional research has shown that concentrated flaxseed hulls are even more effective antigens than whole ground flaxseed.

FemFlax® is a highly concentrated all-natural flax hull supplement that offers the full spectrum of 27 plant lignans that safely and effectively manage hot flashes, night sweats, and other symptoms associated with menopause and perimenopause.
